From the Author

I grew up near Elbert Colorado with my parents and brothers on the family farm. I attended the Elbert Christian Church in Elbert, Colorado from the time I was a week old. It was there that I learned of God’s grace, Jesus’ atoning sacrifice and the importance of gathering around the Lord’s table to celebrate the Communion meal. I have been involved in Christian service all of my life.

After graduating from Colorado State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, I took a job with Westinghouse and moved to southwestern Pennsylvania. I continued to work for Westinghouse, where I  had various engineering and management roles in nuclear plant design and safety analysis, until I retired in October 2018.

I married the love of my life, Dianne, and we make our home near Jeannette, PA. We have one daughter, Amy. We are all actively involved as members of the Hempfield Church of Christ in Greensburg, PA.  I currently serve as an elder, Sunday School teacher, worship leader, and various other roles as needed.

For many years, I have taken a turn in leading the congregation in the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. It’s a task I love and an honor I value. The thoughts shared with the Hempfield church have provided some of the material for “It’s Suppertime.” The inspiration is everywhere. All the books of the Bible point to Jesus and our salvation through him. The world around us is full of reminders of God’s grace. Hymns, events, history and noble acts by common people have all prompted thoughts that ultimately became the devotions in this book.

Thanks for visiting the website and I hope you enjoy reading It’s Suppertime. Nothing would mean more to me than to know that these words have helped you to appreciate our Savior and what He did for us just a little more.
